Last night I went with Australian Costumers’ Guild members (and friends) to see a preview screening of The Dark Knight Rises in costume as Batgirl. Everyone looked amazing. I’ve always wanted to see a Batman movie in costume, and this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity :) The movie was fantastic! I can’t wait to see it again.

I bought a supergirl piece from one of my favourite artists; Stewart McKenny at Melbourne Armageddon last year, and attempted to re-create the pose :)

I might start posting highlights from Dragon Con 2011. This was taken on the Monday, I was wandering around the Marriott near the dealers hall when Cliff was taking pictures, and I had plushie Cap with me. Plushie Cap got his own mugshot ;) I think this is a brilliant idea, he documented so many costumes that weekend!

Eowyn (Lord of the Rings)

I finished this costume back in 2004, but I took it out today to get some new photos. I have a little information on how I made it here.

Batgirl

On Free Comic Book Day, I had the opportunity to take some pictures wearing my new Batgirl cowl, made by the amazing ReevzFX.

Babylon 5: Army of Light Uniform

Time for another flashback! This was made in 1999 - feels like a lifetime ago. Pictures are from 2002. Unfortunately, I don’t have many good pictures from when I wore it originally. Not my best work, but we all start somewhere. If I could get my hands on some more accurate fabric, I would love to re-make it.

Supergirl

I made the majority of this costume myself. The exception is the boots, however I did make some alterations to them. They are the Pleaser brand Supergirl boots, however they originally had gold tops on them. I made new tops out of yellow leather, and placed them over the top of the gold. I made the belt out of the same yellow leather. I used the same technique for the S symbol as I did with my Justice League animated version of Supergirl. I have a photo tutorial on flickr.

So ‘The Avengers’ was released in Australia on Wednesday 25 April 2012. We attended as a group with members of the South Australian Chapter of the Australian Costumers’ Guild (and friends). Everyone looked amazing! :) It was wonderful to have the opportunity to wear my Captain America USO Girl costume again. It’s quickly becoming one of my most worn costumes.
